Research Groups
MAP-of-MeLEES aims to bring together researchers from two Italian universities. The research groups working on the project are:
Ca’ Foscari University of Venice:
Valerio Dotti is a tenure-track Assistant professor in Political Economy at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. His research interests are in the fields of Applied Microeconomic Theory, Political Economy, and Public Economics, Formal Political Theory and Environmental Economics. He has published in peer-reviewed journals such as Economic Theory, Nature, European Economic Review and European Journal of Political Economy.
Enrica de Cian is a Full professor of Economic Policy at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Her research focuses on environmental economics, climate change, and econometric methods, with a strong focus on the global impacts of climate change on the economy and households. She has won several European grants and she holds an ERC Starting Grant called ENERGYA - Energy Use for Adaption, an H2020 collaborative project. Moreover, she currently collaborates with the CMCC Foundation, where she is the deputy director of the ECIP Division dealing with the economic impacts of climate change impacts and policies. She has published in leading peer-reviewed journals such as Energy Economics, Energy Policy, Scientific Reports, and Journal of Environmental Economics and Management.
Fabrizio Marrella is a full professor of International Law and European Union Law, whose interests are in International Business Law and international commercial and investment arbitration. He is the chief editor of EIUC Studies on Human Rights and Democratisation and a member of the editorial board of several journals in International Law. He has publications in the Journal of World Trade and Diritto del Commercio Internazionale, among many others.
Gabriele Asta is a tenure-track assistant professor of International Law, whose expertise lies in the jurisdiction of International Courts and Tribunals and the analysis of their rulings. He has published in Rivista di Diritto Internazionale, Studi sull’Integrazione Europea and many others. The last two profiles meet the specific need of the project of informing the policy design of WTO and EU Law.
University of Milan
Luca Rossini is a tenure-track Assistant professor of Statistics at the University of Milan and a Researcher at Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei. He is the Co-Principal Investigator and head of the local unit of the MNEMET project. His research interests span Bayesian inference; time series analysis and forecasting techniques; energy economics and novel nonlinear models. He has published in leading peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics; Journal of Econometrics; International Journal of Forecasting and Annals of Applied Statistics.
Silvia Salini is an Associate Professor in Statistics, and she is working on energy policy, statistical modelling, and data science. She has published several papers of a multidisciplinary nature ̶ both methodological and applied ̶ in particular on environmental policy, complex data analysis, and robust inference. In particular, her publications appear in leading journals such as the Journal of Official Statistics, International Statistical Review, Energy Policy, and Socio-Economic Planning Sciences. Over the years, she has participated in many international and national projects on the topics of evaluation, robust statistics, complex data analysis, and other more multidisciplinary. Among others, she has worked closely with the European Investment Bank, and she has collaborated with different researchers at the European Institute on Economics and the Environment (EIEE) and Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC).
